Goshen's Favorite Diner, Open Every Day

Generous portions, daily specials, and a menu that covers everything from sunrise to sundown in Goshen, NY.

About Us

At Goshen Plaza Diner, the portions do the talking. Regulars know that when a special lands on the table, it comes with soup or salad, a hearty side of vegetables and potatoes, and often dessert, all for $20 to $25. That kind of value, delivered consistently, is exactly why this place has earned 2,375 reviews and a 4.3-star reputation on Clowes Ave.

The kitchen runs flexible. One reviewer came in with a specific craving, a teriyaki dish that wasn't exactly on the menu, and the server found a way to make it happen. That willingness to work with a guest instead of just reading off a laminated card sets the tone here. From the open face turkey sandwich piled high with meat to a soul-warming cup of cream of broccoli soup, this is food built for people who are actually hungry.

Doors open at 6:00 AM and stay open until 10:00 PM, seven days a week, no exceptions. Whether the crowd is the early-morning coffee rush or a late-dinner crowd passing through Orange County, Goshen Plaza Diner keeps the lights on and the kitchen ready.

What We Offer

The menu spans the full arc of the day. Breakfast anchors the morning with eggs cooked to order, fresh-squeezed orange juice, and all the classics that make a diner worth the stop. Lunch and dinner open up into a wide roster of American plates, daily specials, sandwiches, soups, and more.

Specials are where the kitchen really shines. Each one is a complete meal, arriving with a choice of soup or salad, a generous protein, vegetables, potato, and dessert. The cream of broccoli soup and the stacked open face turkey sandwich have both earned callouts in reviews. For guests with specific requests, the staff has shown a knack for improvising and delivering exactly what someone came in for.

With seating for a full dining room and a pace that handles both the morning rush and a quiet late-evening meal, the diner functions as Goshen's go-to table for any occasion, any day of the week.

"I asked for something they wasn't able to make at that time, but it was only one thing on the whole platter I really wanted, and my server figured out how to make my dream come true. I got two teriyaki grilled chicken breast with rice. The food was amazing it was so good. I will be back to try more things as soon as my lip heals up better. If she sees this message she is a great server, and im so thankful she was mine. I can't wait to bring my ky friends up to eat their. My poor aid baby will be forced to sit in my car when the weather breaks but we will be stopping in to get her a treat as well. Shes my girl that loves good food like her mommy she'll savor her bites. I must add the photo is of what I had left to take home. I got two chicken breast with tomato, lettuce, a pickle spear, rice and coleslaw. Well worth it."

"Seems like its the busiest place around so I pulled in for a late dinner. I ordered the open face turkey sandwich with a cup of cream of broccoli soup. The amount of turkey was intense and seemed wrong. Seems wasteful. The mashed potatoes and gravy were the best part. Missing cranberry sauce to make this what it should be. The sandwich was served with frozen mixed vegetables unfortunately. The cream of broccoli soup had almost no taste and after 3 spoonfuls I decided to save my calories. The meal was $18 and if sized down could be more affordable and a good size meal. The young man who waited on me and the waitresses elsewhere in the restaurant seemed good and attentive."

"We eat there often and find the food and staff to be excellent. This is our favorite diner. A large variety of food choices. Food quality is above average and better than other diners within 30 minutes from home. The staff is great. Friendly, good with kids and attentive to needs without being pushy. Highly recommend giving them a try."

"Seven of us popped in around 1:30 on a snowy Saturday and were quite impressed. They’ve got a massive menu and plenty of space, so no trouble getting a table. The atmosphere is great—proper old-school diner vibes with a bit of an ’80s feel to the décor. The place is clean, the tables are solid, and one thing I really liked was the seats—they’ve got wheels on them! I don’t recall ever sitting on wheeled seats in a diner before, but honestly, everywhere should have them. Makes moving around so much easier. They’ve also got a nice kids’ menu, which makes things easier on the littl’uns—a handy touch if you’re coming with family. Our server, Elena, was spot on—proper professional and polite. All our food arrived together, which is always a bonus, and we only waited about 20 minutes, which is decent for a group our size. I went for the boiled ham sandwich (not entirely sure why), but it was actually pretty decent. It was missing mayonnaise, but I made do with a bit of butter and some of the complimentary coleslaw. I also had a waffle and asked for a side of Nutella—they didn’t skimp on it, which was a nice touch! All in all, the bill came to £98 for the lot of us, and we all left full and happy. Much prefer this place to a bog-standard fast food joint. Worth a visit!"
